Overview
This interior design project reimagined a dated two-bedroom apartment in a heritage-listed building. The challenge was to introduce contemporary comfort without compromising the period character of the building envelope.
Design Approach
Original ceiling roses and cornices were restored, while new joinery was detailed to sit quietly alongside the heritage features. A restrained palette of whites, warm greys, and natural oak keeps the focus on proportion and light.
Key Details
A custom kitchen island in honed Elba marble became the centrepiece of the open-plan living area. Integrated lighting throughout was designed to create distinct moods — bright task lighting for the kitchen, warm ambient washes for evening entertaining.
